Cristina Panti is an ecotoxicologist at the DSFTA. After her Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology, she focused her research on the study of the effects of legacy and emerging pollutants, including microplastics and “marine litter” on marine organisms. In particular, she is involved in the development of molecular methodologies applied to ecotoxicology both for study in model species and in endangered species such as cetaceans and reptiles.

She is a member of the Pelagos Sanctuary Scientific-Technical Committee and appointed as an expert by the ACCOBAMS agreement. She has participated in numerous national and international projects (e.g., PRIN, Interreg Med, Life, etc.) on marine pollution issues in the Mediterranean Sea and other oceans of the world.

She has authored more than 70 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and book editor (Elsevier).
