The University of Siena, together with other academic and research institutions, has contributed to the establishment of the Center for Seismic Microzonation at the National Research Council (CNR). This center serves as a scientific reference point for local and national authorities involved in seismic risk reduction, particularly through territorial planning and emergency preparedness initiatives.
Within the center, the University of Siena is represented by Professors Albarello and Fantozzi from the Department of Physical, Earth and Environmental Sciences.
