The Master's in Phytotherapy is a postgraduate program designed to meet the professional needs of doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Its purpose is to provide specific knowledge and skills in the use and preparation techniques of herbal remedies, as well as an in-depth understanding of medicinal plants, their pharmacotoxicological and therapeutic characteristics, and the areas in which phytotherapy can be used rationally within the limits of current knowledge. The Master's program therefore aims to train participants to professionally respond to the growing number of patients who want to use products based on medicinal plants and their preparations for treatment, while also training professionals capable of working in the herbal product industry.
For the 2025/2026 academic year, classes for the Level II Master's Degree in Phytotherapy will be held in a blended learning format. This means some classes will be in-person in Siena (with the option to attend remotely), and some will be exclusively remote. The remote option will always be available throughout 2026 (even when classes are in-person in Siena) via online lectures on the Google Meet platform at the address: https://meet.google.com/xxy-auby-gvc.
We believe it's important to hold some in-person classes because we feel that the in-class exchange with colleagues and professors is particularly interesting and stimulating in a medical-pharmaceutical-scientific field like phytotherapy.
