Mobility

All PhD students have the opportunity to enrich their education and research by undertaking study and research stays abroad during their doctoral program.

At its meeting on November 29, 2024, the Faculty Board established a mandatory requirement for all PhD students to spend at least six months abroad at a university or other foreign institution. This aligns with the University of Siena's priority objectives for internationalization.

 

Stays abroad must be authorized by the Faculty Board based on a documented request supported by the tutor's evaluation. The scholarship amount is increased by 50% for total stays abroad not exceeding 12 months (or up to 18 months in the case of a co-tutorship agreement).
