The Sea Level Research laboratory in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Rhode Island is looking to recruit multiple graduate students to work on projects at both MSc and PhD level.
Positions can start as early as January 2014.
Full funding (from 2 to 4 years), in the form of research and teaching assistantships, is available for both MSc and PhD level research, contingent on making appropriate academic progress. Funding includes tuition remission, stipend, and benefits.
Possible project areas include, but are not limited to:
1. High-resolution late Holocene relative sea-level reconstructions.
2. Holocene relative sea-level reconstructions and implications for glacial isostatic adjustment modeling.
3. Microfossil- and geochemistry-based paleoseismology records.
Applicants will ideally have experience of field research in coastal settings and good statistical skills.
Interested students should send a CV along with a short description of academic background, research interests, and any other supporting information they feel is relevant to Dr. Simon Engelhart (engelhart at uri.edu)
